Anne Labovitz / Earth and Water

Opening reception Saturday, January 10, 6-8 pm
Artist gallery talks begin at 7 pm

Exhibition continues:
Sunday, January 11 through Saturday, January 31, 2015

Having grown up on the shores of Lake Superior, both the horizon over the lake and the large trees that border the shores have long been a point of reference for Anne Labovitz. Her work is a study of the ever changing intense and compelling characteristics of the horizon line and the landscape surrounding it throughout the seasons. Intense color, light and atmosphere variations inspire her paintings and are the focus of her Earth and Water landscapes.

Anne Labovitz studied art at Hamline University. Her work is in collections internationally, and she has had solo shows in Germany and Spain as well as across the U.S., including two shows at the Tweed Museum in Duluth, and a show in La Jolla, CA. Her 2015 show "Conversations" will begin at the Tweed and travel to Thunder Bay, Canada; Petrozavod Russia; Ohara-Isumi City, Japan; Växjo, Sweden, and Rania, Iraqi Kurdistan.
